"Living Truthfully Under the Circumstances"

So Everyone has their stereotypes right? There's the nerd, the fashionista, the jock etc. I have no idea what people see me as and I don't think I want to know. But if I could choose I would choose The Actress. Or The Drama Nerd :) (I think the latter is more likely, Lol.)

Why bring this up? (the first time I typed that I actually said down cause that was the word in the song I was listening to.. hehehe) Because if you're going to know me that's the first fun fact. (Yay for alliteration!) I am a HUGE drama and theatre buff. I LOVE it. Wish I had the time to really dive in, learn more about shows and musicals and directors, and, and, and... The list goes on.

Right now, I'm actually co-directing our high school show, "The Crucible". I love directing. Though getting teenage boys to shut-up is a challenge. But I love sharing what I know and I will confess I like being in charge. Maybe I just like the change from last year. Last year, I love our director, but we barely got the show together in time for show time. I was onstage that year, as Puck. Favorite. Role. Ever. (A Midsummer Night's Dream btw)

Lemme just say big props to Shakespeare. I love his stuff. Which FINALLY leads me to why I'm writing this. Yeah you see how much I get sidetracked? That's going to happen a lot. :)

Today in Physio, (one of my fav classes) I was talking to my partner for the project we were doing. We had finished everything we could do in that classtime so we got to talking about drama. (the theatre kind. Duh) And she was amazed at how I had those lines memorized. (Puck actually has the third most lines in Midsummer, and I was one of the first people off book. I don't mean to brag but it's something I'm proud of :) ) She told me line memorization would be the hardest thing for her. Which leads to my MAIN point.

People often have misconceptions about things they've never experienced. Memorization is one of the easiest parts of acting. The hard part, for me anyway, is really getting the emotion right. Really hitting it head on. Whether you're the comic relief or dramatic lead, if people don't believe you then your effort is wasted.

I could talk forever about acting and why I do it, but sadly my homework calls. Sadface. Anyway signing off for now.

Till Next Time,
Emmie
